Travel / Venue
The RDS Irish International Convention and Exhibition Centre www.rds.ie is Ireland's premier venue for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, trade and public shows, entertainment and sporting events. Located in the very heart of Dublin, no other exhibition venue offers such proximity to Ireland's capital city. The RDS is located approx. 3 kilometers from Dublin City in the heart of residential Ballsbridge.
Bus
The RDS is well serviced by Dublin Bus with many routes stopping immediately outside at dedicated stops on the Merrion Road. Routes 7, 7A, 18 and 45 all serve the venue. For complete timetables and route news please visit www.dublinbus.ie
DART
The DART station serving the RDS is "Sandymount". It is a short walk (approx 4 minutes) from the station to the RDS. Please visit www.dart.ie for timetables and news.
Train
There are two mainline rail stations in Dublin - Connolly Station & Heuston Station. You can connect to the DART (see above) directly from Connolly Station to Sandymount & the RDS. From Heuston Station, take the LUAS (www.luas.ie) to Connolly Station and then transfer to the next southbound DART to Sandymount.
Ferry
Dublin is served by two main ferry ports. Dublin port to the north is a short (10 minute) drive to the RDS and Dun Laoghaire to the south is a slightly longer 25 minute journey. See www.irishferries.com or www.stenaline.ie for ferry timetables.
Taxi
The RDS is well known to the Taxi industry and you should have little problem in hailing a taxi to or from the RDS.
Air
The RDS is situated about 16km from Dublin Airport (www.dublinairport.ie). Access from the airport directly to the RDS is by Taxi (see below) or by "Aircoach" there is an Aircoach stop directly outside the RDS on Merrion Road. Aircoach also serves many of Dublin's hotels directly from the Airport. See www.aircoach.ie for routes, fares and timetables.
